"My Other Ride Is a Light Cycle" at Threadless
DO WANT. :3
In other news, I saw Thor this afternoon. Papa Kirk is the beefcake to end all other beefcakes, people. MY GOD. Chris Hemsworth is built like a brick shithouse on steroids. And I would like to climb him like a very tall and sturdy tree, pls & thank you. Unf.
...yeah. Um. *cough* The movie was good too. Very enjoyable and whatnot.
Thinks I liked:
- Loki. He was this perfect blend of human (Asgardian?) vulnerability and calculating evil. I don't usually like villains but I loved him from the getgo. He was more than just the token bad guy/jealous brother and the actor who played him was pretty amazing. The scene with Loki and Odin (right before he falls ill) really got me. (For my 2ยข, I don't think he's dead. I've a feeling he got wormholed to another realm and that he'll be back.)
- Great female characters. From Jane and Darcy (Kat Dennings makes my girlcrush meter go Ping!) to Frigga and Sif. They were all strong women and the lack of damsels in distress waiting around to be saved by the big strong men was refreshing.
- THE RAINBOW BRIDGE. :3
- Kenneth friggin' Branagh. I had no idea he directed anything that wasn't Shakespeare-related until I saw his name during the end credits. And now, for some godawful reason my brain won't stop imagining Hamlet or Iago or hell, even Benedick sitting in the directors chair. Haa~
- But okay, SURPRISE!IDRIS ELBA as Heimdall was quite possibly the best part for me:
HNNNNNNNNN. THIS MOVIE HAS ALL THE HOTASS. No, but srsly. The picture's kind of cheesy, you have to see it to get what I mean. And when I say this is the best part it's because I have this totally hugecrush onappreciation for all things Idris Elba. (Plus, Heimdall's yellow eyes = ♥)
Things I didn't like:
- The romance! They knew each other for maybe three days? How is this true love? Though I mean, I guess if I met this slightly crazy but insanely hot guy I'd probably want to hold onto him too...
- The fact that he "learned his lesson" in the same amount of time? Idk about that. For realism's sake, the movie should have spanned over a course of several months, possibly even a year. That way Thor could've maybe resigned himself to the fact that no one was coming for him, etc etc and then really learned his lesson after having to live a) as a human and b) with people who didn't see him as royalty/anything special. Plus, more scenes with him interacting with the locals (other than Jane and crew) would have been nice.
And last but not least, the aforementioned beefcake:

...
In other, other news: I have a crapload of comments to reply to and to make so if you were (for some reason) waiting or you thought I was ignoring you or whatever, I just thought you should know. I haven't done them yet but I will! Soon-ish. >.>
