In other news, I just came across this "article" on EW.com: 'Hawaii Five-0': Anyone else think this show needs some real sexual tension?

To which I say, emphatically: ASLDKJFS;LDKFJSLDKFJSLKFJ;ALSKDJFAL;KSDJF UGH. NO. NO IT DOES NOT NEED "REAL SEXUAL TENSION".* To quote one of the responses posted in the comments,

"I’ve actually been enjoying the fact that they haven’t felt it necessary to bring sexual tension into the main storyline of the show [...] If they do decide to bring in some sexual tension, let it be with Chin or Kono and an outsider—don’t bring it into the team just to have it there. That’s one of the best ways to ruin ensemble shows like this."

THIS. Because sexual tension is all well and good but I am so enjoying the fact that there isn't a big huge romance subplot to get in the way of all the action and crazypants stuff that goes on in every episode. I like that they each have their own thing going on in the background, you know? Steve has Catherine, Kono had/has whats-his-face (Ben?), Chin has Malia, and Danny, well, Danny has Grace (and Rachel issues) and Steve. There's so much kickass stuff going on in this ridiculous show, bringing in romance is not only pointless but it uses up time that could be better used elsewhere (for example, more of Steve throwing people into shark tanks, Chin hitting people with ashtrays, Kono vaulting over escalators to karate-chop suspects, and Danny haranguing Steve for being shitcrazy and not following police procedure and bringing grenades to fistfights).

Basically, UNNECESSARY SEXUAL TENSION IS UNNECESSARY. I love it the way it is, truly, and bringing in the romance would just ruin it. (See: my issues with NCIS, nowadays) (And don't get me wrong, I think the idea of Danny/Kono or Steve/Kono is friggin' cute as shit but I don't want to see it happen in the show. Just like I wouldn't want them to bring in an outside character(s) just to create a romance plot with, either. No smoldering looks over Chin's touchscreen/table/whatchamajig, pls.)

Anyway, I love how the majority of responses to the article are like "Ugh, no thx," "let's talk about H50 bingo instead" and "Steve/Danny, duh". I ♥ H50 fans something awful, I do. :D


*But srsly, where have you been? The show already has sexual tension. Has anyone over there in EW land seen any of the scenes that Danny and Steve are in together? Because hello. Even if it's not intended to be "real sexual tension" it fulfills that slot quite nicely. If you would stop with all the heteronormativity for a sec, you might see that.

Why do people feel the need to tell @neilhimself about teh slash? He already KNOWS. Just. Sit down and shut up. God.

In other news, new H50 tonight, thank Christ. Something to take my mind off all this stupidity and fail.

ETA: Halo Reach now, H50 later. At least after it's recorded I can fast forward through the commercials. Am feeling kind of twitchy tonight anyway.
